Clinical Mastitis App

The Clinical Mastitis Decision Support Tool Project is a $3.5 million, three-year project. DataGene has been working within a multi-disciplinary team to build an App to help farmers and vets make better decisions about how they manage cows with clinical mastitis on farm, with the aim of more prudent use of antibiotics and improve animal health and welfare.

The Clinical Mastitis app uses data from your herd combined with world first machine learning features to predict treatment outcomes for cows with mastitis in your herd to help with your animal health decision making. Your data from on farm software, and herd testing data is fed into an algorithm to predict treatment outcomes.

The Clinical Mastitis mobile app is free and easy to use. It is currently in a clinical trial phase.

    • Use your DataVat login to access your herd.
    • Look up history of individual cow health events.
    • Enter new mastitis events into the app for treatment predictions.
    • Set reminders to add pathogen data.
    • Record treatments or outcomes in the app

The project team will conduct research and trials on Australian dairy farms across New South Wales, and Victoria, using the Mastitis App between February 2024 – October 2024.
